In Paris, activists took the figure of President Emmanuel Macron from a wax figure museum and put it in front of Russia’s message. What is behind it?
In protest against France’s gas and fertilizer imports from Russia, Greenpeace activists have taken away a wax figure of President Emmanuel Macron from a Paris Museum and put them in front of the Russian embassy. “Business is Business” was on a protest banner that an activist kept up behind the figure. “Ukraine Burns, Business goes on” (the Ukraine is on fire, the business continues) was read on another banner.
As the director of the Grévin Museum, Yves Delhommeau, to which Cnew’s broadcaster, the Greenpeace activists first came to the museum like normal visitors. Then they would have put on work clothes unnoticed so as not to attract attention when the Macron figure is removed from the nearby emergency exit. They would have carefully wrapped the figure in order not to damage them. After a few minutes, they would have guaranteed to bring the president’s wax figure back quickly and without prejudice after the protest.
Greenpeace complains of Macron’s contradictory policy
The director of Greenpeace in France, Jean-François Julliard, told BFMTV that the Macron figure was only loaned and not stolen. It was about denouncing Macron’s contradictory politics who support Ukraine on the one hand, but on the other hand, but on the trade with Russia.
