A man attacks a group of Jewish demonstrators in the USA with fire rates. After the attack, the number of injuries increases – and new details come to light.
After a brutal attack with fire rates on a Jewish demonstration in the US state of Colorado, the number of injuries rose to twelve. The law enforcement agencies in Boulder announced that four other victims had been identified. This increases the number of injuries from eight to twelve. The alleged perpetrator had planned the attack with Molotow cocktails by a long hand and showed himself without any regrets. According to investigators, the attacker had prepared even more than a dozen other fire sets, but they were not used.
A Holocaust survivor among the injured
The man had attacked a group of demonstrators in Boulder on Sunday who wanted to draw attention to those Israeli hostages with their assembly who are still in the hands of the Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The victims of the attack in the state of Colorado were partly over 80 years old. From the Ministry of Justice it was said that among them was also a Holocaust survivor.
According to the investigators, the attacker threw two Molotov cocktails into the group and called the propalestinian slogan “Free Palestine”. According to witnesses, the man also used a kind of flame thrower in the attack. Several people wore burns. In a court document by the Ministry of Justice, with details about the question of the man, it said: “He explained that he wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead.” The man showed no remorse, but made it clear that he would celebrate such an attack again. He had planned the crime for a year and was only waiting for his daughter to graduate.
US government quickly speaks of terror
Various offenses are charged to the alleged perpetrator, including the use of fire sets and attempted murder in several cases. He is also accused at the federal level of having had a hate crime, as the Ministry of Justice announced. In the event of a conviction, according to the law enforcement authorities, he threatens lifelong imprisonment.
The federal police FBI had already announced shortly after the crime that the incident was about a “targeted act of violence”. High-ranking representatives of the US government, including President Donald Trump, quickly stated that it was terror. Trump complained that the perpetrator came into the country due to the misguided migration policy of his predecessor Joe Biden.
The consequences of the Gaza War
Just a week and a half ago, a fatal attack in the US capital Washington triggered horror: two employees of the Israeli embassy were shot there in front of the Jewish Museum. According to a court document, the alleged shooter justified the crime with the support of the Palestinians during the war between Israel and Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He also called “Free Palestine” at the crime scene.
Since the attack by Hamas and other Islamist terrorists on Israel on October 7, 2023, the number of anti -Semitic incidents in the United States has increased significantly. The attack, in which around 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 were dragged into the Gaza strips as hostages, was triggered by the Gaza War between Israel and Hamas. According to the health authority controlled by the Hamas, more than 54,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war.
