Just a few days ago, the Green Youth boss caused outrage with a post with anti-police police sweater. Now she makes headlines again, but reacts differently.
Co-boss of the Green Youth, Jette Nietzard, has apologized for a video of Israel. In the article – which has now been changed – she had said that since October 7, 2023, “over 50,000 Palestinians and 1200 Israelis had died in military operations”.
She now wrote about the Instagram account of the Green Youth: “Yesterday I uploaded a video to a topic that takes the whole association emotionally. And I made a mistake for which I want to apologize openly and honestly. Especially with Jews worldwide and in Germany.” The Green Youth said in a transparency note that in the previous version of the video it “did not become clear enough that October 7 was an anti -Semitic terrorist attack”.
In the now available video, Nietzard accuses Israel of using hunger and humanitarian aid as a weapon against the people in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, she emphasizes that Hamas is a terrorist organization that uses people in the Gaza Strip as human protective shields. The Hamas still holds hostages, which would have to be released immediately. However, this could not be a reason for Israel’s procedure.
Sweater with a police message
Just a few days ago, Nietzard had an indignation with a sweater on which the abbreviation “ACAB” could be read. The letters stand for “all cops are bastards”. In the picture on her private Instagram account, she also wore a cap with the capitalism-critical inscription “Eat the Rich”. Many Greens politicians reacted outraged, some also suggested their resignation. Nietzard refused to resign. She said to the magazine “Stern”: “I have a few other sweaters in my closet, so you can be excited to see which messages we will discuss.”
