What does Robert Habeck do according to his failed candidacy for chancellor? According to a media report, the Greens politician has now found a new job as a university guest lecturer.
Green longing in the USA: Former Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock started her new office at the United Nations in New York a few days ago, now Robert Habeck is supposed to move to California. The Vice Chancellor and Economic Minister of the premature traffic light government, now a simple member of the Bundestag, is to become a guest lecturer at the renowned University of Berkeley, reports the “Focus”.
Together with the German economy Ulrike Malmendier, who is already teaching in Berkeley, Habeck is said to keep a lecture series on the subject of crises. According to the report, the University of Habeck is said to have already announced internally.
The Greens politician said the dpa news agency: “I am in discussion with UC Berkeley and I am happy about the interest. Everything else will clarify in the next few months.”
Habeck is currently in the Federal Foreign Committee
After a disappointing election result for the candidate for the Chancellor and his party, he is currently sitting for his parliamentary group in the Federal Foreign Committee and particularly takes care of the relationship with the USA. The report does not show whether the guest lecture is mandatory that Habeck gives up his Bundestag mandate. A request from the star Habeck has so far left unanswered.
A few weeks ago, the “Spiegel” reported that Habeck only wanted to practice his Bundestag mandate until the parliamentary summer break, which begins in mid -July. The 25-year-old Mayra Vriesema from the Schleswig-Holstein State Association is under discussion as a successor in the event of his resignation from the Bundestag.
