Los Angeles: Journalist Farming during the live switch of police

When she moves a bit to the left and the camera follows her, you can see how a policeman aims at her and hits with a rubber floor.

The cameraman and Tomasi then take flight. “You have just shot at a damn journalist,” you can hear a demonstrator roaring. Other surrounding people inquire how Tomasi is doing. She is doing well, she says, her television station later announced that the correspondent is doing well. “Lauren and her cameraman are safe and will continue their important work in reporting on these events,” said the broadcaster.

For Tomasi it was not the first dangerous situation on Sunday. On another video published by “9 News” you can see how it is in the middle of a group of demonstrators when they are shot at with rubber floors and glare grenades. “We are safe here, but you can clearly see the volatility,” assured Tomasi. But when demonstrators grab the camera afterwards, the transmission breaks off, “to give Tomasi and her cameraman the opportunity to get to safety,” as the broadcaster said.

Since Friday there have been violent clashes between security forces and demonstrators in Los Angeles. The background is several raids from the immigration authority ICE against illegal immigrants.

In the night of Sunday, US President caused another escalation when he ordered 2000 soldiers from the National Guard without consulting governor Gavin Newsom to Los Angeles and thus threatened to send further military to the city. California’s governor accused Trump’s government of provoking the escalation in a targeted manner and having broken the law in order to be able to stage himself as a strong president. On the night of Monday, the LAPD issued a ban on meeting in the city center and asked people to immediately clear the affected area.
