After South Korea hired its propaganda loudspeaker along the inner Korean border, North Korea also seems to be inflowed. Does the situation relax?
The North Korean military has apparently shot its loudspeaker systems along the inner Korean border. As Yonhap reported, citing the South Korean General Staff, no sound was heard on Thursday in the area of the demarcation zone. It is obviously a mutual relaxation measure in North Korea after the South Korean military had previously dismantled its propaganda speaker in the border area on Wednesday.
The sound is part of the psychological warfare between the two countries, under which the residents and soldiers in particular suffered around the highly militarized border area.
South Korea’s new president wants to take care of peace
In the course of his office, South Korea’s new President Lee Jae Jae Myung has announced that it will take a more diplomatic course in his North Korea policy and ensure peace. His predecessor, the conservative Yoon Suk Yeol, emphasized a policy of strength and clear edge compared to the north.
The tensions on the Korean peninsula have increased significantly over the past few years. Pyongyang has modernized his rocket and nuclear program rapidly. In addition, North Korea has received a military cooperation with Russia – and supported the country in the Ukraine War with the sending of ammunition and soldiers. It is believed that Pyongyang has received military technology from Moscow in return.
From a formal point of view, the two countries are still in a state of war, since the Korean war from 1950 to 1953 only ended with an armistice, but a peace treaty was never signed.
