The announced protests against President Donald Trump began in several US cities on Saturday. Around 1000 people gathered in the US capital Washington, several thousand people flocked together in the East Coast metropolis Philadelphia.

According to the organizers, there were planned demonstrations under the motto “No Kings” (“No Kings”) in more than 1,500 cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta and Palm Beach.

Donald Trump accused demonstrators of authoritarianism

The organizers had called for this to protest in the greatest demonstrations since Trump’s office in January against “Authoritarianism, billionaire-up policy and the militarization of our democracy”.

According to the organizers, around 25,000 participants were expected in Los Angeles. In the second largest US city, in which significant protests against deportions of irregular migrants were occasionally escalated in the past few days, armed soldiers of marine incorporation were deployed.

Trump had arranged the commitment of 700 members of the Marines in Los Angeles, which was actually intended for combat missions abroad, after he had already created 4,000 soldiers of the National Guard in the California metropolis against the will of the local authorities.
