Chancellor Friedrich Merz described the Iranian nuclear weapons program as an existential threat to Israel. “Iran must not develop nuclear weapons and do not own,” said the CDU politician before his departure to the G7 summit in Canada. Iran’s progress on the way to the nuclear weapon led to Israel attacked military destinations in Iran on Friday. “This topic will be very high on the agenda of the G7 summit.”
