Trump open to Putin as an intermediary in Israel Iran War

Wladimir Putin has been a bitter war against Ukraine since 2022. Now he offers himself as a peace founder in the conflict between Israel and Iran. One thinks the idea is good.

US President Donald Trump is open to the idea that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin could act as an intermediary in the war between Israel and Iran. “I would be open to it,” Trump told ABC’s television station. Putin called him because of that. “We had a long conversation about it. We talked more about it than about his situation.” According to the Kremlin, Russia’s president had offered himself as an intermediary in the conflict between Israel and Iran on Saturday.

Russia has close relationships with Iran and had already discussed a possible intermediary for a possible role in Tehran at the United States’ negotiations. Putin has been a war against the neighboring country of Ukraine for more than three years and has previously refused to sit down at a table with the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj for peace talks with the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr. So far there have been talks between representatives of both countries, but a ceasefire in the Ukraine War is not in sight.

Trump wrote on Saturday after the phone call with Putin and the discussions about the escalation in the Middle East on platform X: “Like me, he believes that the Israeli-Iranian war should be ended, whereupon I explained that his war should also be ended.”

Russia and Iran also work closely together because of the western sanctions that burden both countries. Iran is criticized to support Russia against Ukraine in its war of attack.
