Ukrainian President Selenskyj is also expected at the summit of the group of the seven leading industrialized nations (G7). He demands a harder gait against Russia before the meeting in Canada.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj called up the leading industrialized nations for more pressure on Russia in front of the G7 summit in Canada. Despite all promises by Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, the USA and other people willing to peace continue to attack Russia in Ukraine, said Selenskyj after a meeting with military. “This terror is becoming more insulting,” he said.
The President accused Russia of using the current attention for the war between Iran and Israel for attacks on Ukraine. “There are no signs that someone in Moscow is preparing to end the war or take diplomacy seriously,” he said.
Selenskyj said that Kiev also passed on information about a Russian threat to the infrastructure for the production of nuclear energy in Ukraine to the International Atomic Energy Authority IAEA and the USA. He did not give details. It is cynical that Putin of all people tried to bring themselves into play as an intermediary in the Middle East.
Selenskyj: G7 should obtain sharper sanctions
Methods are needed to combat sanctions bypass, Selenskyj said at Telegram. The G7 countries, including Germany, could do this. Criminal measures against banks and the financial sector that really hurt Russia are needed. In addition, Selenskyj again called for a “real oil price lid” that reduces Russia’s income from the sale of energy.
The Ukrainian head of state is expected as a guest at the meeting scheduled in Canada until Tuesday. For Selenskyj, the meeting is an important platform in order to promote further military and financial support in the fight against the Russian attack war among the allies of Ukraine.
Thousands of Russian attacks on Ukraine
Despite the previous sanctions, Russia has been waging war for more than three years. Selenskyj complained that the number of attacks has increased. Since the beginning of this month, the neighboring country has used around 2,800 drones, almost 3,000 sliding bombs and 140 rockets and marching missiles against Ukraine. In the night of Sunday alone, there were 183 attacks with drones and 11 with rockets and marching aircraft.
According to this, the attacks were mainly true of the city of Krementschuk in the Central Trainian area of Poltawa. There, the Russians have been chasing an oil processing company since the beginning of the war, which is important for the care of the Ukrainian armed forces with fuel. According to the authorities, nobody was injured. In his evening video message, Selenskyj spoke of damage to the energy infrastructure there. The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported on the attacks.
