The world is concerned about the war between Israel and Iran. But people continue to suffer in Gaza. The head of an aid organization has a simple requirement.

The war between Israel and Iran has moved the further catastrophic location of the people in the Gaza Strip into the background. But the tragedy there continues unabated, warned the head of the Palestinian aid plant Unrwa, Philippe Lazzarini. “It is time for a permanent peace in Gaza and the entire region,” wrote the UN official, who once described himself in an interview as a “naiver optimist”.

In the past few days, numerous people have been killed and injured again, complained Lazzarini. Including, who would have tried to get food through a distribution system, which he described as “fatal” in a post on platform X.

Lazzarini thus referred to reports that the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) supported by Israel and the USA had repeatedly occurred to fatal shots on Israeli soldiers. The foundation had repeatedly rejected such reports as wrong.

The foundation had started its commitment last month after almost three months of Israeli blockade of aid deliveries. The distribution is intended to represent an alternative to the use of the UN and international aid organizations. According to the use of GHF, Israel and the United States want to prevent Hamas from acquiring humanitarian aid goods.

Lazzarini complained that despite the extensive deliveries of help according to Gaza, there are still restrictions on the delivery of UN aids. This means that there is a lack of fuel deficiency in the health sector and the drinking water supply.

The Gaza War triggered the attack by Hamas and other Islamist terrorists on Israel on October 7, 2023, in which around 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 were delayed to Gaza as hostages. Since then, Israel’s military has been fighting against Hamas in the – now large area – coastal area. According to the health authority controlled by the Hamas, more than 54,000 Palestinians have already been killed. The authorities’ figures do not distinguish between fighters and civilians.
