Pentagon: No attacks by the US military against Iran
According to Washington, US soldiers in the Middle East do not participate in attacks against Iran. However, the US military wants to defend its troops and interests in the region.
The US government has rejected reports of alleged American attacks against Iran as “wrong”. The US troops in the Middle East continued to stick to defending themselves if necessary, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Sean Parnell, said on the platform X. “We will protect American troops & our interests,” he wrote.
Shortly before, Defense Minister Pete Hegseth said that he had ordered the military presence in the region to protect his own troops in the Middle East at the weekend. He did not give any details.
According to matching media reports, the US military sends a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East. In addition, the United States is said to have moved dozens of tanker aircraft to Europe at the weekend in order to be able to use it quickly in the Middle East if necessary.
The US military supports Israel’s defense, especially with shooting from Iran fired ballistic rockets. At the same time, the US government has emphasized since the beginning of the fight at the end of last week that it is not involved in the fighting between Israel and Iran. Protecting your own troops in the region has priority.
A total of a total of 40,000 soldiers are currently stationed on the bases of the US military in the region – for example in Iraq, in Qatar or Kuwait.
