Presumed IS fighter arrested in Halle
The federal prosecutor has a man arrested in Halle. He is said to have fought for IS in Iraq.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Halle an der Saale had a suspected member of the terrorist militia Islamic State (IS). The Iraqi is said to have fought for IS from 2014 to 2016 in Iraq. The Karlsruhe authority accuses him of membership in a terrorist association abroad. Today he is to be brought before the investigative judge of the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, which decides on the custody.
As the highest law enforcement agency in Germany, the federal prosecutor is responsible for terrorism, espionage and war crimes.
