Minister of construction Scharrenbach makes cancer public

Ina Scharrenbach is considered a multi-worker. But now the Minister of Construction of North Rhine-Westphalia must be shorter: the CDU politician has cancer.
The North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Building and Local Minister Ina Scharrenbach (CDU) has cancer. The 48 -year -old politician made the diagnosis on Facebook public. “I received a cancer diagnosis as part of a random findings,” she wrote.
It will undergo a four -month outpatient chemotherapy. During this time, she will reduce the number of her public appointments in order to be able to devote herself to the treatment. The ministry’s business continues as well as their political offices. “I am confident that I can soon turn to all tasks again with full strength.”
Scharrenbach is considered a multi-worker in the state cabinet who is practically always on duty. She has been a minister since 2017 and is currently responsible for construction, local, home and digitization departments in the state government. After the Bundestag election, Scharrenbach headed the infrastructure working group for the coalition talks with the SPD for the CDU. She was also acted as a possible Federal Minister.
Wüst wishes Ina Scharrenbach a lot of strength
Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) Scharrenbach encouraged for the coming difficult time. “Dear Ina, I want you to know: You are not alone,” wrote Wüst on the platform X. “We are all at the side. Now there is nothing more important than your full recovery.” Health now has absolute priority. “I wish you a lot of strength for the upcoming fight. You are a strong woman, you will win this fight!”

In 2022, 1,066,341 people died in Germany. According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), this was 4.2 percent or 42,654 deceased more than in 2021 (1,023,687 deceased).
The most common cause of death was a cardiovascular disease in 2022 such as a heart attack: with 358,219 deceased reason for a good third (33.6 percent) of all deaths.

The fact that Scharrenbach made her cancer diagnosis public is brave, says Wüst. “If you get such a diagnosis, everything else becomes irrelevant. Then the world stops for a moment.”
Compassionate words also came from the political opposition. So the SPD state chairwoman Sarah Philipp wrote on X: “To speak openly about a cancer diagnosis, a lot of courage. I wish you a lot of strength, confidence and a complete recovery. In such moments it becomes clear what really matters. Everything is conveniently good for the coming time.”
