While the two arch enemies cover themselves with attacks, US President Trump advises with his security advisors. Do the United States intervene directly into the war? That would be a new escalation level.
In the midst of speculation about the possible entry into the war of the United States, Israel and Iran have continued their mutual attacks. According to its own statements, the Israeli Air Force once again attacked goals in the Iranian capital Tehran. Previously, the Iranian revolutionary guards – the elite trait of the Islamic Republic – had fired two rocket salvos to the Jewish state within a less than one hour. There were initially no reports of victims of the latest attacks from both countries.
A few hours earlier, US President Donald Trump and his team for national security advised on how to proceed. For the course of the war between Iran and Israel, it is crucial how the United States behaves. The US military supports Israel in his defense. So far, however, the US government has always emphasized that it does not participate in the fighting between Israel and Iran. If the United States should decide to actively enter the war, a new dramatic escalation level would have been achieved.
US military apparently merges forces
According to media reports, the US military sends a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East. In addition, the United States is said to have recently moved dozens of tanker aircraft to Europe in order to be able to use it quickly in the Middle East if necessary. Due to the tense security situation, the US message in Jerusalem is also closed up to and including Friday.
Since last Friday, Israel has been attacking goals in Iran- including nuclear facilities, leading military, nuclear scientists, defense positions, oil and natural gas fields and destinations in cities. According to Israeli representation, the most important request is to prevent the Islamic Republic from the development of nuclear weapons – a goal that Iranian leadership has been showing itself for years. However, there are international doubts about the Dementi from Tehran because Iran is the only country without nuclear weapons that produces highly enriched uranium, as is required for this weapon type.
Israel could probably only destroy uranium complex with US aid
However, Israel would be dependent on the support of the US Army to switch off the underground nuclear complex in Fordo – the most important goal of the Israeli military. Because among the western states, only the United States with its precision-led “bunker breaker” bombs have a suitable weapon to destroy the area that was buried deep into the mountain for uranium enrichment.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) said in a ZDF interview on the sidelines of the G7 summit, he suspected that in Washington there is currently advising on the use of such bunker-breaking weapons in Iran. “I am not able to say whether the American government decides to do this at the moment.”
G7 struggle to form a common position
Despite all the conflicts, the G7 countries were able to agree on a joint position on the war between Israel and Iran at their meeting in Canada. In an explanation, the group of leading industrialized countries committed itself to the right of self -defense Israel, called on to protect civilians and underlined that Iran should never have an atomic bomb. However, the text does not show a possible way out of the escalation.
The nuclear power of Russia, which was excluded from the then G8 group after the annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea in 2014, accuses Israel of heading the world on a nuclear disaster. “From the perspective of international law, the persistent intensive attacks on the Israeli side on peaceful atomic objects in the Islamic Republic of Iran are illegal,” said a statement by the Foreign Ministry in Moscow.
The attacks were “an unacceptable threat to international security and drive the world towards a nuclear disaster, the consequences of which will be felt everywhere, also in Israel itself”. Unlike the G7 countries, Russia maintains comparatively good connections to Tehran and, for example, has made mass drones from Iran for his attack war against Ukraine.
Iran’s top guide Chameni threatens Israel
In the midst of the continuing location, Iran’s top guide Ajatollah Ali Chamenei again sent a threat to the archenemy Israel. “We have to give the Zionist terrorist regime a strong answer,” he wrote on the news platform X. “We will not make a mercy to the Zionists.”
Previously, US President Trump had turned to Chamenei with an indirect threat, to which the Iranian constitution, as head of state, grants the last word in all strategic matters. “We know exactly where the so -called” top leader “holds himself hidden”, Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform. “He is an easy goal.” For the time being, Chameni is certain. “We won’t turn it off (kill!), At least not at the moment.”
