Russian President Vladimir Putin first mentioned that he has a granddaughter. “When I spoke about the fact that some people close to me, relatives, learn Chinese, I spoke of my granddaughter, who has an educator from Beijing and speaks to her fluently in Chinese,” said the Kremlin chief at a question and answer session for large news agencies at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg (Spief).

He had already mentioned that Putin is a two -time grandfather, but without name the name or age of the grandchildren. The news that one of the two grandchildren is a girl was so important for the state Russian news agency TASS and TV journalists Pawel Sarubin that they made rush reports.
