Bayern follow the 10: 0 against Auckland at the Club World Cup victory number two. After the 2-1 against Boca Juniors, the Munich team are in the round of 16 prematurely.
FC Bayern Munich has reached the first stage in the World Cup after a late goal by Michael Olise and an overall mature performance against Boca Juniors. In the evening heat of Miami, the German football champion dominated the traditional club from Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires in the 2-1 (1-0) more clearly than said the result. Bayern are thus in the round of 16.
In addition to Olise, who already scored his third World Cup goal in the 84th minute with a precise shot in the far corner, striker Harry Kane scored 63,587 spectators in the 18th minute. For Boca, striker Miguel Marentiel surprisingly compensated for 1-1 after a counterattack and a position error by Bayern defender Jonathan Tah (66.). It was the first defeat for the previously strong teams from South America at the tournament in the USA.
To the group victory against Benfica
In the last preliminary round game against the second in the table Benfica Lisbon (4 points), Bayern is now concerned with first place. The team of coach Vincent Kompany would be the first to meet FC Chelsea or Tunis at the start of the KO phase, second on Flamengo from Brazil.
The stadium was clearly atmospherically in the hands of the Boca fans. On the square, however, Bayern totally had the feeling of away game under control. The Munichers could not be provoked, remained cool and also stuck robust.
The shortcoming was the goal yield
There was only one shortcoming – the goal yield. Kingsley Coman (20th), Tah (40th) and Olise (53.) could have increased to Kanes Tor. A directly converted corner of Olise in the 8th minute was not recognized as a goal because Serge Gnabry had campaigned too robust against Boca’s goalkeeper. Bayern captain Manuel Neuer had to react splendidly. With his right fist, the goalkeeper kept a sharp shot from outskirts Kevin Zenón (33.).
