In 14 days, Donald Trump wants to decide on the United States’ entry into the Middle East War. US comedian Jimmy Kimmel shows in 90 seconds what to think of the deadline.
“Donald Trump loves to pronounce threats – and give them deadlines.” With these words, US comedian Jimmy Kimmel begins the current edition of his show and shows in just 90 seconds what can be thought of “within two weeks”.
Does Donald Trump insert the “mother of all bombs”?
Within two weeks, Donald Trump wants to decide whether he will interfere with the war between Israel and Iran. And if so, how. Some experts expect the use of the largest non-nuclear bomb with the somewhat stubborn (translated) name “massive ammunition-thumb”, also called “mother of all bombs”. This weapon is able to destroy the underground nuclear facilities of Iran or at least damage it.

This would actually be one of the most important Israeli war goals: the (preliminary) end of the Iranian nuclear program. In principle, the USA (as well as Europeans and all neighbors of Iran) want the same, but President Donald Trump hesitates.
On the one hand, the use of the US military could let the conflict escalate badly, but above all, and that should be much more important to the Donald Trump, which was always concerned about his reputation: he had promised his voters to keep himself out of the Middle East Wars instead of interfening with them.
Two-week period means everything or nothing
If Donald Trump grants himself a two-week period, it can mean that he a) wants to carefully consider that he b) has absolutely no plan of what to do, c): That he hopes that the whole thing may have done itself in 14 days. Or it means d) simply: nothing.
A compilation of the US comedian Jimmy Kimmel suggests that the last variant may be the most likely: He has found a dozen two-week announcements from the President’s mouth, most of them from the past few weeks, but also older: In July 2020, for example, Trump promised “a new health law within two weeks”.
“We are still waiting for him to sign this health law. And everything else,” joked Kimmel.
