Is the citizen benefit too high or too low? A new survey shows that many of those affected are not enough for the money on their own information.
According to their own information, only a little more than any and every second citizen benefit recipient has enough in the account so that everyone is always fed up in the household. 69 percent consider the standard rate to be high enough for a healthy diet, as a new survey of people in the citizen benefit shows.
More than anyone and every third citizens’ benefit for nozzle refrain from eating in order to be able to finance other necessary things. According to their own statements, 54 percent of parents do without food in favor of their children.
Against the background of this findings, the association criticized Sanction -free, which commissioned the study, Federal Minister of Labor Bärbel BAS (SPD). BAS had announced steps against misuse of citizenship money and spoke in an interview of exploitative structures in which people from other European countries are lured to Germany with mini work contracts.
In fact, social service fraud is “not a structural problem,” said the founder of the association, which is for more social support, Helena Steinhaus.
In general, from the perspective of 72 percent of the respondents, the standard rate of 563 euros is not sufficient to live a dignified life per month. “The overwhelming majority wants to work, but has hardly any hopes of finding an existential work,” said the association, citing its results. 42 percent are ashamed to receive civil allowance. 72 percent fear further tightening.
The President of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), Marcel Fratzscher, warned against the background of the results of a policy of shortening and saving in the citizen allowance. Not only those affected lose, but also the economy, because even with the less qualified workers were missing. More funding would be better, said Fratzscher.
Of the 5.5 million citizens’ allowance, a third are children and adolescents and 800,000 top-ups who are not enough for their wages. The 16,000 people, against whom sanctions would be levied after repeated misconduct, were not very important in relation.
Of the 1.7 million employment capable, most of them are affected without adequate qualifications and many with hundreds of problems.
