Iran: These US bases could target the mullahs

According to the US attacks on the three most important nuclear systems in Iran, a consultant by the top spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Chamenei US base in the region that were used for these attacks has declared “legitimate goals”. Thousands of US soldiers are stationed at bases in the golf region and in the Middle East, the US regional command is responsible.

The small kingdom on the Golf houses the fifth fleet of the US navy and the headquarters of the US marine forces in the region.

Bahrain’s low-water port is suitable even for the largest US warships such as aircraft carriers. The Navy has been using the base since 1948, at that time it was still operated by the British Royal Navy.

Several US warships have their home port in Bahrain, including four mining boat boats and two ships for logistical support. The US Coast Guard also has several ships in Bahrains.

The Iraqi government is an ally of Iran, but at the same time a strategic partner of the United States.

The United States has stationed soldiers in numerous military facilities in the country, especially on the air force bases al-Asad and Erbil. Overall, there are around 2500 US soldiers in the country as part of the international coalition against the Islamic State (IS).

After the beginning of the Gaza War in October 2023, US institutions in Iraq and Syria were attacked by Pro-Iranian fighters. The United States answered counterattacks, and since then the attacks have largely declined.

The Emirate on the Golf is the location of several US bases, including Camp Arifjan, where the headquarters of the floor forces of the military command Centcom are located for the entire region. The US Army also maintains an important warehouse for military material in the country.

The Air Force base Ali al-Salem is a flight hub for relocating troops in the region. The USA also stationed drones in Kuwait, including MQ reaper.

Parts of the Military Command Centcom and special units are stationed at the Air Force base Al-Treid in Qatar.

In addition, fighter jets and a unit for airspace monitoring, education, refueling in the air and for medical evacuation flights are stationed there in the rotary process.

According to the Reuters news agency, the number of US soldiers in Saudi Arabia in 2024 was 2321, according to the White House, and several of them were stationed near Riad on the Saudi Prinz-Sultan Airbase. Other places are also used by the US military, which, according to Reuters, cooperates closely with the Kingdom.

100 kilometers northeast of the capital Amman is the Muwaffaq Al Salti Air Base, which houses a squadron of the US Airforce.

In the fight against IS, the US Army maintained several institutions in Syria for years. In April, the Pentagon announced plans to halve the number of soldiers in the country for less than 1000.

An air force unit with ten aircraft and drones is stationed at the Al Dhafra base. A training center for air and rocket defense is also located on the base.
