According to media reports, the Portuguese football professional Diogo Jota, who was fatally crashed in a car accident, wanted to reach a ferry from Spain to Great Britain. After a small lung operation, his doctors advised him against flying due to the pressure fluctuations, the Portuguese sports newspaper “A Bola” and the British BBC reported. When flying, the cabin pressure only drops to a lower level and then rises to the normal value on the ground when landing.
The 28 -year -old Portuguese international from FC Liverpool and his brother André (25) were therefore traveling from Porto to the port city of Santander on the Spanish north coast, where they wanted to take a ferry to Portsmouth.
Shortly after the Portuguese-Spanish border, her vehicle came off the street in the Spanish region of Zamora on Thursday night and went up in flames. All help came too late for Jota and his brother.
Breaked tires the cause of the accident?
According to initial investigations, the Spanish police assume that one of the two rear tires burst during an overtaking process and the vehicle therefore crashed into the median strip of the highway through a guardrail. The brothers with the sports car may also have been on the road at excessive speed. Only a completely destroyed and burned -out wreck remained of the car.
