Formula 1 completes the first half of the season with the race in Silverstone. In training, two British give the fans reason to cheer.
WM-Jäger Lando Norris drove the best time of the day in training before his Formula 1 home race in Silverstone. Test pilot replaces Hülkenberg
The only German regular pilot still had to watch in opening training. The alpine replacement driver Paul Aron, who was loaned at short notice, took over his car. The Este also came back to the garage as 17th.
Before the twelfth season run on Sunday (4:00 p.m./Sky), Piatri leads the overall ranking with a 15 -point lead over his team -mate Norris. Defending champion Verstappen already has 61 points behind Piatri after his recent accident in Austria.
With the best time in the first unit of the day, Silverstone record winner Hamilton had fueled the hopes of home fans for his tenth triumph in the county of Northamptonshire. “Driving here for the first time in a Ferrari will be a unique experience,” the 40-year-old had previously said.
