Mixed martial arts and boxing coach Albert Karmazyan shared his expectations from the upcoming fight with his former ward, pop-MMA fighter Max Topor Shcherbakov.
“Everyone understands that boxing is a gentleman’s fight. I’m sure of myself. The forecast for the fight – you yourself understand whose hand will be raised up, ”he told Izvestia on February 17.
Karmazyan expressed confidence that he would “lay down” his opponent.
“His minuses are his weight, height. My anthropometry is better. I can work higher at a distance. Well, the inner kitchen, which I do not want to cover before the fight. I trained him, I know his weaknesses. He can change, but let’s see how it will be, how it will be in battle, ”added Karmazyan.
The duel between Karmazyan and Shcherbakov should be the final point in their conflict, which flared up on January 28 after the “Boxing Evening” tournament.
On that day, Topor lost the fight to Maxim Novoselov, and in the locker room he had a conflict with the assistant organizers and Karmazyan. The skirmish turned into a fight, as a result of which Shcherbakov received a concussion and a broken nose.
After the fight, the boxer said that he did not want to have any more business with Karmazyan, as he attacked him in front of his wife and friends. Ax stressed that he started getting beat up after concussion in the ring when he wasn’t expecting.
Information appeared on the Web that Ax decided to write a statement to the police against his ex-coach. Later, the athlete challenged Karmazyan to a fight. The Ax proposed to fight on his fists, since in this case “it’s definitely impossible to hit on the sly.” Ex-coach Shcherbakov accepted the challenge on February 10.
The duel between them will take place on February 25 at the REN TV Fight Club tournament. The main event of the evening will be a duel between Magomed Ismailov and Nigerian Olanrewaju Durodola.
