Jamal Musiala: FC Bayern announces official diagnosis

Football player Jamal Musiala from FC Bayern Munich is a long time because of a break of the calf. As the German football record champion announced, the 22-year-old suffered the fracture as part of an ankle luxation. Musiala flew from Orlando to Munich on Sunday morning and will be operated promptly according to the club.

“This serious injury and the long failure are a real shock for Jamal and all of us. This affects FC Bayern. Everyone knows how immensely Jamal is important for our game and what a central role he has for our team,” said sports director Max Eberl according to the announcement.

“In addition, the human scope is extremely bitter, we all feel with him: Jamal just came out of an injury and will now be missing again for a long time. He gets everything he needs,” said Eberl the day after the end of the Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain. “We will accompany him intensively and be at his side and are already looking forward to it when he is back on the pitch.”

A duration of failure is difficult to forecast. Musiala will not only lack the Munich in the coming months, but also the German national team at the World Cup qualifiers in autumn. On the way to the World Cup in the USA as well as in Canada and Mexico in the summer of 2026, the serious injury to Musiala is a hard setback.

Musiala was injured in an action against PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma shortly before half-time when he had jammed the 22-year-old’s leg. The left foot of Musiala then stood on the side. The pictures alone had indicated a bad injury.

Both the Bayern professionals and the opponents of Musiala were visibly shocked and could hardly look like Donnarumma, such as Donnarumma. “It is not only that we live next to each other like robots, but we also have personal relationships,” Bavaria’s Thomas Müller told the streaming service DAZN.

Musiala had just fought back after a muscle bundle tear. In Atlanta against PSG, he was used again for the first time after three months in the starting XI. But the comeback developed into a nightmare. The offensive star had to be removed with a stretcher after a minute of treatment on the square and replaced at half-time.
