Confusion about footballers
Fans confuse Bundesliga star with dead Jota brother
André Silva from RB Leipzig came to Portugal to pay the last honor to Diogo Jota and his brother. Silva’s woman now has to educate football fans about a confusion.
The sympathy after the tragic death of football professional Diogo Jota, 28, and his younger brother André Silva, 25, was great. Many Liverpool players and employees, for whom Jota last played, and Portugal’s national team came to Gondomar, the hometown of the brothers to receive their last honor.
Among them was also the Portuguese striker André Silva, 29, who is currently under contract with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Pictures show Silva and his wife Maria Hrodrigues how they take part in the dead guard for the crashed brothers in the Sao Cosme chapel.
A few days later, Silva’s wife turned to football fans. The reason: after the sudden death of Diogo Jota and his brother, there were apparently several confusion. Because her husband, André Silva, bears the same name as Jota’s brother.
On Instagram, Maria Hrodrigues has been pushing: “I have received many friendly and concerned news lately. There seems to have been some confusion in connection with the recent sad news, and I would like to make it clear that these reports do not affect my husband André Silva.”
Without name, she made it clear: “Our sympathy applies to the families who are affected by this tragedy. We are in my thoughts in this incredibly difficult time.” The relatives of Diogo Jota and his brother are meant. She posted the message with a white heart and a white pigeon.
Like Diogo Jota, she and Leipzig’s André Silva recently married. The football professional posted in June.
Leipzig’s André Silva dismayed about Die Die Diogo Jota and his brother
After Diogo Jota’s death, Silva uploaded a picture that shows the two in the FC Porto jersey where they played together in the 2016/17 season. “I can’t believe it … We take it for granted every day, but life can be brutally fragile. There are no words that will ever be enough. That doesn’t make sense. Only pain and a silence that weighs heavily,” he wrote.
And further: “We shared moments on and off the field … laughing, victims, victories, simple conversations that now have a new meaning. You will always be with us, in everything we were and are! You will always be part of us!
