Milan wins eighth tour stage – Pogacar continues in yellow
On the eighth day of the 112nd tour of France, the sprinters come back to the train. In Laval, the Italian top sprinter of its favorite role fulfills.
The Italian top sprinter Jonathan Milan won the eighth stage of the 112nd Tour de France. The Bahnrad Olympic champion from 2021 won after 171.4 kilometers from Saint-Méen-Le-Grand to Laval in the mass sprint in front of the Belgian Wout van Aert and the Australian Kaden Grove. The German sprinter Pascal Ackermann took fourth place.
Tadej Pogacar continues to carry the yellow jersey of the whole. The Slovenian world champion, who already won two stages on this year, reached the goal with the main field and is 54 seconds in front of the Belgian double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel. His biggest rival Jonas Vingegaard is fourth.
The German cyclist Jonas Rutsch meanwhile was involved in a fall 19 kilometers before the finish line, but was able to continue.
Another sprint on Sunday can be expected. On the ninth stage over 174.1 kilometers from Chinon to Chateauroux, it goes over completely flat terrain.
