Trump causes irritation on club World Cup winner podium
The US President also makes the final of the club World Cup his very personal show. He just stays on the podium when Chelsea’s captain spend the winner’s cup.
U.S. President Donald Trump, with his idiosyncratic manner, also amazed and irritations at the award ceremony after the final of the World Cup at New York.
The 79 -year -old – after he had previously presented the winning players of FC Chelsea after the 3-0 against Paris Saint -Germain at the Metlife stage – simply wanted to be on the winner’s podium when team captain Reece James wanted to start cheering with the teammates. Usually this moment belongs to the winners.
Match winner Palmer: “We were irritated”
“We were already a little irritated,” reported after the game of the double goal scorer Cole Palmer, who was excellent as “Man Ot the Match”. Reece then simply raised the trophy – and Trump applauded. So the US President was on the cheering pictures.

There was applause for him, but also much louder boos. However, Trump seemed unimpressed by this. He apparently enjoyed the award ceremony. Trump had mostly spent the final itself in a stadium lodge alongside his wife and First Lady Melania Trump and the Infantino couple.
In one year, the national team’s World Cup finals will also end in the stadium in East Rutherford not far from New York City. The final will take place on July 19, 2026. Trump’s tenure as president then runs.
