On February 19, Russian mixed martial artist Magomed Ismailov posted footage of preparations for the fight against Nigerian Olanrewaju Durodola on his Instagram page.
Ismailov sparred with UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev. He noted that the final fight in boxing gloves turned out to be tough.
“Now you box better,” Chimaev answered him.
The day before, Ismailov and Durodola met face to face for the first time at a press conference at the Izvestia Information Center. The journalists learned from Ismailov what he felt when he saw Durodola at a striking distance.
“I saw that he had big fists. He has a fist like my head,” Ismailov said.
On February 16, Russian boxer Kostya Tszyu supported Ismailov before the fight with the Nigerian. Tszyu came to training to Ismailov and gave him instructions. The athlete, in turn, noted that it was a great honor for him to train under the guidance of Tszyu.
