Russian figure skaters Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov on February 19 became the silver medalists of the Beijing Olympic Games in the competition of sports couples.
They performed the free program without errors and received a total of 239.25 points for both rentals, Sport-Express reports.
Gold in the competition was taken by a duet from China – Wenjin Sui and Cong Han. For the free program, the jury gave the athletes 155.47 points. For all performances, the sports couple received 239.88.
Russians Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov earned a total of 237.71 points and took bronze. The sports duet of Alexandra Boikova and Dmitry Kozlovsky performed a free program with one mistake, and the jury gave them only fourth place. Skaters received 220.50.
According to the test results, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) at the Olympic Games in Beijing won six gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze medals.
Earlier that day, Bolshunov won the mass start and brought the Russian Olympic Committee team the sixth gold medal of the Beijing Olympics. The Russian athlete covered the distance of 28.4 km in 1 hour 11 minutes 32.7 seconds.
