European Football Championship
Oberdorf believes in the finals: “Bang in”
First Olympia, now the European Championship. Lena Oberdorf missed the second tournament after her cruciate ligament tear. With the heart, the Munich woman is at the DFB team. She has a message for the Spain duel.
Bayern star Lena Oberdorf has committed the German footballers to a successful European Championship semi-final against Spain in a video message. “Okay, girls. You made it to the semi-finals. I keep my fingers crossed. Exactly again like against France. Everyone together, and then we win the game and are in the final. Good luck,” said the 23-year-old in a “sports show” interview of the ARD.
Oberdorf missed the tournament in Switzerland after its cruciate ligament rupture that had already been suffered last year. With the heart, however, she is also with the Spanish world champions on Wednesday (9:00 p.m./ARD and DAZN). “We have to push in there,” said Oberdorf during training in Munich of the ARD and the “Bild” newspaper. “I am confident that we will see a good game.”
Mentality like against France
As with the 6: 5 in a penalty shootout in the dramatic quarter -finals against France, the combative attitude is important. “At the last European Championship, we have proven that we are resistant. Even now we have seen again that we have an enormous mentality,” said Oberdorf.
Opponents Spain had not yet been properly challenged at the European Championship, the midfielder noted. But: “You can see the quality and they have world stars in their ranks, play an attractive football.”
