Ferred seconds on Mont Ventoux: The currently eighth of the Tour de France, Tobias Halland Johannessen, collapses immediately after the entrance to the finish and has to be taken care of.

The Norwegian cycling professional Tobias Halland Johannessen collapsed at the Tour de France at the finish of the 16th stage on the Mont Ventoux. Pictures showed how the 25-year-old was treated by paramedics lying on the ground and then removed with an ambulance.



“Tobias suffered from pain in the right upper abdomen today during the final climb. He made it to the finish, where he was immediately examined by the racing doctors and got oxygen.

In the evening there was further all -clear: The Norwegian broadcaster TV2 reported that Johannessen had announced that they wanted to start on Wednesday at the 17th stage between Bollène and Valence. His twin brother Anders Halland Johannessen, who also started for UN-X Mobility on the tour, had previously said in an interview with the broadcaster that his brother was doing better.
