Jonathan Milan won the 17th stage of the Tour de France. The 24 -year -old Italian won after 160.4 kilometers from Bollène to Valence in the mass sprint ahead of Jordi Meeus and Tobias Lund. The sprinter celebrated its second day victory in the 112nd tour of France in the pouring rain. The final in Valence was overshadowed by a fall over the last kilometer.



One day after the hard stage up to the legendary tour mountain Mont Ventoux, the German cycling star Florian Lipowitz in Valence finished with the main field and thus defended his third place in the overall ranking and the white jersey of the best young professional.

The Alps are waiting from Thursday


The 24-year-old Schwabe may have justified hopes for the podium in Paris on his first tour of France. In the overall classification, Lipowitz is still 9:03 minutes behind tour dominator Tadej Pogacar in the yellow jersey and the Danes Jonas Vingegaard (4:48 minutes). Lipowitz has a lead of 2:01 minutes on the fourth -placed British British Oscar Onley.

On Thursday with the 18th section, the spectacular royal stage of the tour is on the program. The route in the Alps leads from VIF over 171.5 kilometers and 5,450 meters to the roof of the tour, the 2,304 meter high Col de la Loze.
