Preliminary off at the swimming World Cup: Goses Fear arrives in

Isabel Gose is not a top favorite, but medal candidate over 1500 meters freestyle. Now it is already over in the lead. The top swimmer reports mental challenges.

Isabel Gose has surprisingly excreted in the lead at the World Cups over 1500 meters freestyle. The 23-year-old, who had bronze on the route at the past World Cup, only took ninth place. The Magdeburg woman missed the final of the best eight swimmers with her time of 16: 08.41 minutes by 22 hundredths of a second.

“It has arrived a bit, of which I was so afraid of yesterday,” said Gose after her race when she was not yet clear. “Perhaps the skepticism with which I was going here was too present in my head. It felt very different than yesterday.”

Gose talks about his own expectation pressure

On Sunday, Gose had become fifth over 400 meters freestyle. “I think that your own expectation pressure is higher than you think,” she said. In the open water, she had won gold with the 4×1500 meter relay.

Gose now has to recover as soon as possible. It is also reported over 800 meters freestyle. She won silver on the route at the 2024 World Cup. The preliminaries are on the program on Friday.

Matzerath and Köhler with medal opportunities

It was much better than for Gose for breast swimmers Anna Elendt. As the second of the preliminaries, she qualified for the semi -finals. The 23-year-old struck after 1: 06.01 minutes. So she was two hundredths of a second slower than the priority fastest, Mona McSharry from Ireland.

In today’s final session from 1:02 p.m. CEST Lucas Matzerath over 100 meters of chest and Angelina Köhler over 100 meters of butterfly wear the German medal hopes.
