Ex-biathlete Laura Dahlmeier dies at Salzenlück
The worst fears have been confirmed: ex-biathlete Laura Dahlmeier did not survive her mountain accident. The rescue operation in the Karakorum Mountains came too late.
Former German biathlete Laura Dahlmeier was fatally accidentally accidental when climbing in the Pakistani Karakorum Mountains. This was announced by her management of the German Press Agency. According to the information, Dahlmeier and her rope partner were on the 6069 -meter -high Laila Peak when she was hit by a rockfall at around 5700 meters on Monday around noon (local time). The two were therefore on the road alone in the alpine style, which means, with easy equipment and without expedition logistics.

The rope partner, who later went on the descent with other climbers, immediately made an emergency call, the rescue operation was initiated immediately. But the scene of the accident is difficult to access. The risk of stone cheats also made the rescue use more difficult.
