Surprise in water jumping: Pfeif wins World Cup silver
Pauline Pfeif lands a coup in water jumping at the World Cup. The Berliner celebrates the greatest success of her career so far.
Pauline Pfeif won the silver medal in water jumping at the World Championships in Singapore. The 23-year-old only had to give up in the tower jumping of the sovereign, victorious Chinese Chen Yuxi. Their compatriot Xie Peiling referred Pfeif to bronze with an 8.90 point lead.
The Berliner gave the German water jumper team the first medal of Singapore’s title fights. For Pfeif, it is the greatest success of your career so far. She received 367.10 points for her five jumps from a height of ten meters. After her last jump, the tears of joy came at Pfeif. She hit her hand in front of his face and fell over her neck national coach Christoph Bohm.
Four medals at the EM
At the World Cup last year, Pfeif still took tenth place in tower jumping. Already at the European Championships in May in Belek in Turkish, she showed her class. Pfeif won silver in singles from the tower and in the team event as well as bronze in tower synchronized jumping with Carolina Coordes and in tower-mixed synchronized jumping with Luis Avila Sanchez.
Pfeif came to jumping water as a five -year -old. In kindergarten she was so good that she later found a flyer from the Berlin TSC in her bread box. How strongly she has developed in her sport since then, Pfeif now impressively showed in the OCBC Aquatic Center.
