Relieved Gose swims into the World Cup final: “Single freely”

Cheers, trouble – and now again cheers to the end? Isabel Gose is swimming for a World Cup medal on Saturday. She refrained from a disappointing experience.

Isabel Gose was visibly relieved. The 23-year-old smile made the sovereign moving into the final over 800 meters freestyle. “I just want to go freely now,” said Gose in the catacombs of the Singapore World Cup swimming pool. On Saturday she has the chance to crown her emotional Southeast Asia trip including high feelings for open water gold and anger over a lead out with a medal in the pool.

“I am glad that I made such a good lead after the 1,500 meters,” said Gose with a view to her premature ends on Monday. After that, she had explained that her fear had occurred and her skepticism was too great. Gose had shown that she put too much pressure on herself and put it down.

Gose reports unanswered news

Born in Berlin, who has been training, trained, struggling, quadrilating, doubting, doubting and relieved at a distance. “I didn’t answer almost anyone who wrote to me after the 1,500. I just wanted to refrain from it and I think that helped me,” she said.

Distraction and fun in the team also helped to rebuild Gose. According to her own statements, she did not need sports psychological help.

The qualification for the final with the four -fastest lead time of 8: 20.21 minutes was anything but a matter of course after what had been experienced. Gose changed their processes before the race. She tried to keep out of the very big hustle and bustle in the World Aquatics Championships Arena. “I notice that we have been traveling for three weeks and that it all gets too much for me,” she said.

Gose had also started in the open water at World Championships for the first time. Together with four -time world champion Florian Wellbrock, Oliver Klemet and Celine Rieder, she won gold with the season – that was almost two weeks ago. This was followed by fifth place over 400 meters freestyle and the low point on the longest pool.

Very strong competition in the final

Gose had won silver over 800 meters at the World Cup last year. Because of the Olympic Games in summer, some top stars did without the title fights in Doha in February. The competition in the fight for the medals this time is completely different.

“We have extremely strong girls,” said Gose. Among other things, she swims against the Olympic champions Katie Ledecky (USA), Summer Mcintosh (Canada) and Lani Pallister (Australia) and defending champion Simona Quadarella from Italy. The final is scheduled for 2:21 p.m./CEST.
