Alexander Zverev won a match on the ATP tour for the 500th time and reached the round of 16 at the Masters in Toronto. The Olympic champion on number one defeated Matteo Arnaldi from Italy after difficulties in the first set 6: 7 (5: 7), 6: 3, 6: 2.



“This is a great success. There are not many players who have reached this milestone. Of course I want 500 more victories or more,” said Zverev in Canada. In the hardplace tournament, which is endowed with around $ 9.2 million (around 8 million euros), he will meet Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina next. Zverev increases after the first round


Against Arnaldi, Zverev lost control of the match in the first round after a good start. In the third round, Zverev initially awarded three more break chances at the 1-1 scale and was dissatisfied with himself, but in the end they won the victory after 2:46 hours. Shortly before, he caused enthusiasm in the audience when he caught a tennis ball with his pocket.
