After a solo ride on Saturday, the French Pauline Ferrand Prevot impressively completed her overall victory on the final stage. A year ago she won gold on the mountain bike.

Pauline Ferrand Prevot won the Tour de France of women for the first time. The 33-year-old French woman defended her comfortable lead after her solo victory on Saturday on the final stage and confidently chose the fourth winner of the event. In front of Ferrand Prevot, Annemiek van Vleuten, Demi full ring (both Netherlands) and Katarzyna Niewiadoma from Poland won the tour.



The ninth and last stage of Praz-sur-Arly to Châtel also won Ferrand Prevot. In addition to three mountain passes in the Alps, a demanding final in Châtel had to be mastered on the 124.1 km long section.

Ferrand Prevot held harmless in the favorite group and attacked six kilometers before the finish. Doubts about her overall victory no longer arose. “This is incredible,” said the winner, who was served directly in the interview area for a cell phone for a first phone call.


Gigante loses podium on the descent




The day before, Ferrand -Prevot – 2024 at the Olympic Games in Paris, had still secured Mountainbike gold winner – the success of the difficult stage via the Col de la Madeleine (1993 meters) and exposed all rivals.


Sarah Gigante from Australia lost her second place at the final stage after she was left behind early on a departure and could no longer follow the top group afterwards. The overall podium behind Ferrand Prevot completed the former winners Volling in third place as a second and Niewiadoma phinney.

The German drivers had no chance at this year’s issue. In the daily ranking of the last stage, Ricarda Bauernfeind landed in 14th place. In the overall ranking, Bauernfeind ranked 27th with a gap of almost 56 minutes.
