Barça initiates disciplinary proceedings against Ter Stegen
The German national goalkeeper refuses to forward the injury report to the league. This causes further problems for the financially stricken association.
FC Barcelona will initiate a disciplinary procedure against his currently injured star goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen. A spokesman for the Spanish football champion confirmed the German press agency a report by the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” on request. The background to the measure is that the German national goalkeeper refuses the club to forward its injury report to the medical commission of the league.
Ter Stegen had recently been operated on on the back. The association assumes a downtime of four months or more. In this case, in accordance with the financial fair play rules applicable in Spain, Barça could use 80 percent of the default player’s salary to register a new player. It is piquantly Joan García, whom the Catalans had signed in summer as the new number one of Espanyol Barcelona.
Is there a second case Olmo?
Ter Stegen had spoke of a downtime of three months in a social media post and was thus annoyed by the financially difficult to be a club. Already last season, Barcelona had significant problems registering the ex-Leipzig Dani Olmo.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper still has a well-endowed contract in Barcelona until 2028. The association would like to get the German national goalkeeper from the salary list. Until the renewed injury, there were also a number of well -known interested parties such as Manchester City, Manchester United, FC Chelsea, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus Turin, Galatasaray Istanbul or As Monaco. This has become obsolete due to the operation.
The player’s medical data is confidential and therefore his approval is required. The association knows about the player’s right, but also sees obligations to the employer.
