Basketball: Dildos in women’s basketball: WNBA game disturbed again

The women’s basketball league WNBA has a recurring problem-with sex toys. For the fourth time within the past nine days, a dildo was thrown onto the field in a game of the North American professional league.

At the 86:65 of the Atlanta Dream against the Chicago Sky, a purple specimen landed on the floor in the final seconds. Since July 29, Dildos had also been thrown in Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles – all green. As US media reported, citing police information, a sex toy is said to have already been thrown in front of the purple dildo without having reached the field.

There are threats for money or prison terms

Since then, two men have been arrested in the US states of Georgia and Arizona who are accused of having thrown dildos onto the playing fields. They are accused of having an administrative behavior, unauthorized entering of foreign properties, public immorality and vigorous exposure. In the event of a conviction, money or prison terms are threatened. The WNBA sharply condemned the incidents in a statement and threatened with an indoor ban of at least one year.

WNBA players and trainers had recently critically commented on the incidents. “Everyone tries to ensure that the W (NBA, note) is not a joke and is taken seriously and then something happens,” said Sophie Cunningham in her podcast. The Indiana Fever player was almost hit by a dildo in Los Angeles. “I wonder: how should you ever take us seriously?”
