The former sports presenter Ulli Potofski remains unforgettable. Almost two weeks after his death, his family is now saying goodbye to moving death advertisements.

He lost the fight against leukemia – Ulli Potofski died on August 2 at the age of 73.



For decades, the journalist shaped German sports reporting, only on the radio, later on RTL (“kick-off”), where he became a cult reporter. Until the end he was regularly seen at Sky, he also delighted his fans in entertainment shows such as “Let’s Dance”. Potofski remains unforgettable in the sports and media world- and his family is also in deep grief.

In the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” she published a death notice on Friday. In it: a picture of the deceased like people knew and loved him, with a smile on the face and a microphone in his hand.

Funeral service and burial will take place next Friday (August 22nd) at the Beckhausen-Sutum cemetery in Potofski’s birthplace Gelsenkirchen. Donations made it possible for Potofski to be buried on the so-called Schalke fan field next to club legends (the star reported). He was a big follower of the royal blue.


First “Bild” newspaper had reported on the funeral notice.
