MMA fighter Magomed Ismailov does not agree with the opinion of experts that he will not have a chance to win in a duel with Nigerian fighter Olanrewaju Durodola due to lack of boxing experience. He stated this in an interview with REN TV on Tuesday, February 22.
“I have been doing this all my life too. I also box all my life, even if not in a professional ring. But masters of sports come to me – international wrestlers, we box with them. When they see me in MMA, they (experts. – Ed.) See a slightly clumsy technique, because I have to break – go to the legs. Other work. Somewhere clumsy, crooked. But this work prepares my entry into the struggle. In this case, when the boxers come, we just box. And my technique is a little different from the technique that I demonstrate in MMA, ”said the Russian fighter.
Before that, Ismailov admitted that he was nervous before the meeting with Durodola, as well as before any duel, but did not allow him to devour himself.
On February 19, Olympic champion, boxer Alexei Tishchenko said that Ismailov’s strength lies in his endurance. At the same time, according to him, Durodola still has more chances to win.
