Spain tour Vuelta
Wheels away: Jonas Vingegaard and his team stolen
Only Radprofi Jonas Vingegaard wins the second stage of the Vuelta, then his team becomes the victim of theft. The team mechanics now have their hands full.
Just a few hours after Jonas Vingegaard’s stage victory at Vuelta, his team Visma Lease A Bike broke into it. Several bicycles were stolen from the mechanics’ trucks, the team said.
Despite a fall, the two-time Tour-de France winner Vingegaard had won the second stage of the Spain’s tour on Sunday and also took the lead in the overall classification. The 28-year-old is also the big favorite for overall victory.
Jonas Vingegaard’s team: police investigated
The 80th edition of the Vuelta on Saturday started in Italy. On Monday, the third part of San Maurizio Canavese to Ceres over 134.6 kilometers is waiting for the next stage on Italian soil.
“Our mechanics are working hard to ensure that the team is well prepared for the third stage,” said Vingegaard’s team. According to the information, the police have received the investigation into the incident.
