Neymar wants to go to the MLS. However, the league boss is not happy about this statement because he does not like the Brazilian’s reasoning.
MLS boss Don Garber has sharply criticized PSG superstar Neymar’s statements at a press conference to mark the approaching season opener. “We don’t have to take a great player at the end of his career because he has decided that he wants to spend his early retirement in MLS,” said the Major Soccer League boss.
“If they don’t come here to play and make a meaningful contribution to our teams and our league, to respect the league and their fans, we don’t want them in MLS,” Garber continued.
Neymar: “Three or four months vacation a year”
In a podcast with Brazil legend Ronaldo a few days ago, Neymar announced that he would like to play in the MLS one day – but not necessarily to work hard.
“I really want to play in the United States, at least for a season,” said the 30-year-old, adding a reason: “Because the championship there is short, so you have about three or four months of vacation a year.”
