Woltemade changes to Newcastle for up to 90 million
Nick Woltemade is about to move to England, should already complete the medical check. The deal is not yet fixed.
In the advertisement for national soccer striker Nick Woltemade, coach Eddie Howe from Newcastle United is still covered for the time being. There is “not too much”, the 47-year-old said at a press conference of the English first division club before the duel on Saturday at Leeds United. “Things are currently developing well. I can’t confirm anything until everything is under roof and subject – keep your fingers crossed.”
Woltemade, in which the German record champions FC Bayern Munich was also interested, should switch from VfB Stuttgart to the Champions League participant for up to 90 million euros. The medical check was scheduled for Friday.
Transfer goal: center forward
However, Howe does not assume that Woltemade will already belong to the squad against Leeds. “I don’t think that will be possible for many reasons that I don’t understand,” said the Englishman. “I think the most important thing is that we try to hire a center forward. Therefore we are working on it all summer. Hopefully we will get closer to our goal.”
Alexander Isak, the previous top striker of the Magpies, was not part of the contingent recently. The Swede should be very popular with Liverpool FC.
