Basketball star Dennis Schröder reported after the European Championship game against Lithuania of racist hostilities of the audience ranks against his person. The 31-year-old captain said after the 107:88 success in Finnish Tampere: “I can insult me, but monkey noises is a thing that I do not respect and do not accept. Racism is not part of this sport.”
Apparently Schröder had heard the sounds when walking in the cabin. “Unfortunately, some Lithuanian fans did a monkey noise at half -time. I can’t accept that. Racism in this world shouldn’t belong here,” said Schröder in an interview with Magenta Sport. For Germany, the clear victory against Lithuania was the third success in this European Championship.
