According to scandal: Schröder’s wife published hostility
Dennis Schröder is racist in the basketball arena of Tampere. A few hours later, the basketball star’s wife speaks up.
After the racist hostility against basketball star Dennis Schröder at the European Championship, his wife Ellen made hate comments. She posted screenshots with insulting and racist news and commented on Instagram: “Unfortunately, such hostility is, especially if you are in public, omnipresent.”
After the European Championship game against Lithuania, world champion Schröder reported racist hostility – specifically of monkey noise – about the audience ranks against his person. The 31-year-old said after the 107:88 success in Finnish Tampere: “You can insult me, but monkey noises is one thing that I do not respect and do not accept. Racism is not part of this sport.”

His wife also condemned the hostility. “It is really shameful how some Lithuanian fans behaved towards my husband with their racist comments. They should be ashamed of such behavior deeply,” wrote Ellen Schröder. She wished the suspect that “her parents would have brought her better”. The World Association Fiba announced that a visitor was excluded for all other games for this reason.
According to the German Basketball Association (DBB), a total of two people from the hall were expelled after the German coaching team had given information to the security personnel. “Unfortunately, some Lithuanian fans did a monkey noise at half -time. I can’t accept that. Racism in this world shouldn’t belong here,” said Schröder in an interview with Magenta Sport.
