Lithuen’s professionals apologize

Schröder had perceived the monkey sounds, among other things, while walking into the cabin at halftime. The DBB immediately stood in front of Schröder. “There is something like this anywhere and certainly not in the colorful, diverse and open basketball,” said President Ingo Weiss. The official announced that the organizer would “intervene sustainably that such events no longer happen here”.

Lithuania’s player later apologized to Schröder. The association also regretted the incidents. “We would like to send a clear message: This is completely unacceptable for us and violates both the values ​​of basketball and the values ​​in our society,” the Lithuanian association president Mindaugas Balciunas was cited in a message.

According to the authorities, the FIBA ​​has made the “relevant footage and the information available”. The World Association also announced that the Lithuanians’ team delegation “inform them about the situation and to support the efforts to prevent similar incidents in future games,” it said.

Trainer: Can only fight against it

“I noticed that Dennis was very excited – rightly so. In sports and in competition, things have no such thing. We hope that this can be relied and can be solved somehow. We can only fight against it,” said Ibrahimagic. During the game, the incident did not notice – that changed when Schröder himself drew attention to the scenes.

Schröder’s wife: “You should be deeply ashamed”

Schröder’s wife also turned to the suspects in the audience and condemned the hostility. “It is really shameful how some Lithuanian fans behaved towards my husband with their racist comments. They should be ashamed of such behavior deeply,” wrote Ellen Schröder. She wished the suspect that “her parents would have brought her better”.
