You can only shake your head over Bayer Leverkusen (opinion)

Just enthusiastic Leverkusen still the fans, now you can only shake your head

After only two Bundesliga match days, Bayer Leverkusen fires the new coach Erik ten Hag. A quick shot that shows above all what goes wrong in the management.

The fact that something has changed at Bayer 04 Leverkusen showed itself on Saturday at 5:37 p.m. Werder Bremen shot 3: 3 in the fourth minute of stoppage time after Bayer had already led 3-1 in the Weser Stadium. In the past few years, the Werkelf had shot the last-minute goals with which the opponents were stolen the points. Now she collects her.

For Erik Ten HAG, it was not just about points, but also about his job. Already on Sunday rumors made the round that the coach might not survive the international break. Those responsible at Bayer then pulled the ripcord on Monday and separated from the Dutch. After just two match days – the fastest coaching department that the Bundesliga has seen in a long time.

Bayer Leverkusen in transition

Of course it wasn’t going out under ten HAG, not only in terms of the result. Obviously, the players found it difficult to recognize philosophy in their coach, and there is also talk of communicative problems. But are these reasons to put a trainer outside the door after just two games in the Bundesliga? After all, the table has little meaningful at the moment – except for the fact that FC Bayern will probably become an undisputed champion again.

Ten HAG had started the most difficult job in the Bundesliga: he followed Xabi Alonso, who made a double winner during his short term from Vicekusen. Not only Alonso left the club this summer, but also numerous top performers. Above all, of course, exceptional player Florian Wirtz, but also Jeremie Frimpong, Granit Xhaka and Jonathan Tah. The new purchases still need a start -up time.

No wonder that a newly compiled team and a new coach have to find themselves. There is also no miracle medicine from the Bayer plant. What did the club bosses expect in Leverkusen? That ten HAG in this situation dominates the league from now on, as his predecessor did in one season?

The management of the association pushes responsibility

Football is a fast -moving business, what a phrase. But Bayer boss Fernando Carro and sports manager Simon Rolfes have just redefined them. Her lightning resemblance to Erik Ten HAG is primarily an admission of its own mistake. The fact that success coach Alonso followed the call to Madrid followed that key players are given to top offers-understandable.

Making the coach as a peasant victim is a bad style and ultimately also stands in the way of sporting success. At least the international break should have been admitted. When searching for the next coach, the leadership days are now particularly under observation. After all, you can’t exchange all two games the trainer.
