Tottenham seem to have their eye on Unai Simon. The Spaniard could become the successor to 35-year-old Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham Hotspur have apparently targeted Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon. As the mark reported the north Londoners are looking to sign the Athletic Bilbao keeper to replace 35-year-old Hugo Lloris.
According to the report, Spurs want to sign the 24-year-old by 2023 at the latest. Lloris recently extended his contract with Tottenham until 2024.
Unai Simon’s contract with Athletic runs until 2025
It is still unclear whether the national keeper wants to leave his home club for London. Simon is tied to the Basques until 2025 and has already made a commitment to the sixth place in the Primera Division: “As long as Athletic wants me here, I will stay. I owe Athletic what I have in life and I want to repay it as best I can can.”
The 1.90 meter tall Simon is a first-choice goalkeeper at Athletic Bilbao and was number one seeded under Spanish national coach Luis Enrique at last year’s European Championship.
